Wade Davis

Wade Davis is a top relief pitcher for the Colorado Rockies. Davis was named to his third straight All-Star Game in 2017 while with the Chicago Cubs. He had previously established himself as one of the game's best relievers by making back-to-back All-Star squads with the a href=/team/kansas-city-royals>Kansas City Royals in 2015 and 2016.  He had a particularly memorable 2015.  During the regular season, he went 8-1 with an 0.94 ERA and 17 saves.  He extended a streak he had started in 2014, pitching 125.2 innings without allowing a home run.  Then in the playoffs, Davis recorded the final out of the American League Championship Series and the World Series.  He allowed no earned runs and had four saves in the postseason.  For his efforts, Davis was given the Babe Ruth Award as the best player in the postseason.  He has been with the Royals since 2012 after being traded by the Tampa Bay Rays.  Davis spent the first four seasons of his career in Tampa Bay.  He was originally a starter, but converted to bullpen duty during his final Rays season.  The franchise originally selected him out of Lake Wales High School in the third round of the 2004 MLB Draft.
