About David Aldridge
David Aldridge earned his degree from American University and quickly entered the sports world as a writer for The Washington Post. During his nine years at The Post he was the beat writer for Georgetown University basketball, the Washington Bullets and the Washington Redskins. He also covered the 1992 Summer Olympics, the Stanley Cup playoffs, college basketball and football, the World Series, the Super Bowl, the Indianapolis 500 and the U.S. Open tennis championships. Eventually he joined ESPN for eight years and covered college and NBA basketball while also serving as an anchor on SportsCenter and NBA 2 Night. After serving as an NBA sideline reporter for ESPN 2003 and 2004 he made the jump to TNT as an insider for their hit show Inside the NBA. During his time at TNT he has also served as journalist at the Philadelphia Inquirer, where he covered the NFL and college football from 2004 to 2008. Aldridge spent extensive time covering the NBA as a reporter for NBA TV. In 2018, his career went full circle as he joined The Athletic DC as Editor In Chief.
