About Darrius Heyward Bey
Darrius Heyward-Bey was born and raised in Maryland and played his prep football at McDonogh High School in Owings Mills as a wide receiver and linebacker. After earning first team All-State and PrepStar All-American honors as a senior he signed a scholarship to play football at his home state Maryland University. During his three years at Maryland he caught 138 passes for 1,958 yards and 13 touchdowns and also rushed for 326 yards and two touchdowns in route to earning Sporting News First-Team Freshman All-American honors in 2006 and All-ACC honors in both 2006 and 2008. In the 2009 NFL Draft he was selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the first round by the Oakland Raiders and began his pro career. HeywardBey played his first three seasons with the Raiders before signing with the Colts in 2013 and then heading to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014. Thus far in his career he has tallied 172 receptions for 2,413 yards and 12 touchdowns.
