About Byron Leftwich
Byron Leftwich grew up in Washington, D.C. and starred at Marshall University in college, throwing for 11,903 yards and 89 touchdowns during his four years and compiling 12,090 yards of total offense. In 2003 the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Leftwich with the 7th overall pick in the first round and made him the face of their franchise. Leftwich played the first three seasons of his career in Jacksonville and then headed to the Atlanta Falcons in 2007. He played one season in Atlanta before heading to Pittsburgh in 2008. During his one season with the Steelers he helped them to a win in Super Bowl XLIII. In 2009 Leftwich headed back to the sunshine state to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers only to return to the Steelers in 2010. Leftwich retired in 2012 with 10,532 career passing yards and 58 career-passing touchdowns.
