Danny Green Biography

Danny Green is an NBA shooting guard who currently plays for the Houston Rockets. Before he was in the NBA, Green played collegiately at the University of North Carolina for four seasons. He would struggle his first two seasons as a Tar Heel, but would break out in his junior season, averaging 11.5 points with 4.9 rebounds. Green returned for his senior season and was named a captain, guiding the team to a National Championship and being named All-ACC Third Team. Following his graduation, Green was selected in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, bouncing between the main team and the D-League squad. In 2010, Green signed with the San Antonio Spurs, and he was a contributing factor to the team’s success, helping them to two straight NBA Finals and an NBA Championship in 2014. The previous year, Green set a record for three-point field goals made in an NBA Finals. He continued to garner respect as one of the league's top three-point shooters when he was traded to the Toronto Raptors in 2018. During his only season with the franchise, Green helped them to their first championship. Green's winning ways again came in handy as he took home another title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020.
