About Corliss Williamson
Corliss Williamson had an incredible college and pro basketball career. Williamson started out as one of the best prep players in the country and then stayed home to attend Arkansas. He was a member of the best Razorbacks teams in history, including the 1994 NCAA champions. Williamson was named the Most Outstanding Player of that Final Four. He won back-to-back SEC Player of the Year Awards and second-team All-American nominations. Williamson was the overall SEC Athlete of the Year in 1994.
The Sacramento Kings went on to select Williamson in the first round of the 1995 NBA Draft. He spent his first five seasons in Sacramento before being traded to the Toronto Raptors and subsequently to the Detroit Pistons. With the Pistons, Williamson was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2002 and won an NBA title in 2004. After a season with the Philadelphia 76ers, he was able to finish his playing career with the Kings.
Williamson then went into coaching back in his home state as an assistant at Arkansas Baptist. He became the head coach of the program for one season then moved on to serve as head coach at Central Arkansas. Williamson jumped back into the NBA ranks as an assistant in 2013 with Sacramento and went on to coaching roles with the Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns.
