Christine Brennan

Christine Brennan is one of the leading sports columnists in America, being named a Top 10 Columnist from the Associated Press twice throughout her career. The Toledo, OH native graduated from Northwestern University with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Journalism. Brennan began her career with the Miami Herald but made a name for herself when she became the first woman to cover the Washington Redskins from 1984-1988. Brennan moved to the USA Today in the ‘90s where she still works today. Brennan is known as one of the voices of the Olympic Games, covering 15 Games throughout her career. Brennan is also a best-selling author of three books, including her book Inside Edge which made Sports Illustrated’s list of Top 100 Sports Books. Brennan continues to be a voice for women in sports journalism and it was her 2002 column on Augusta National Golf Club that led to wide criticism of the club’s membership policies. Brennan is a winner of numerous awards and achievements including hall of fame inductions into the Ohio Women’s Hall of Fame and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism Hall of Achievement.
