About Chris Archer
Chris Archer is a rising star for the Tampa Bay Rays.Archer had a very productive debut for the Rays and has continued to be a mainstay in the starting rotation. In 2014, he signed a six-year extension with the Rays.Archer originally debuted with the club in 2012.In 2013, he came up in June and finished with a 9-7 record and a 3.22 ERA.Archer also placed third in the American League Rookie of the Year voting.He has made the All-Star Team in 2015 and 2017. He was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2018, but resigned with the Rays in 2021.
Before jumping to the big leagues, Archer was a highly regarded prospect, ranked as high as 27th in the game by Baseball America in 2011.Originally drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 2006, Archer was traded twice in the minor leagues.While with the Chicago Cubs, he was their Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2010.
