Chad Varga

Chad Varga is a motivational speaker and a former basketball player. Growing up, Varga lived in an area of Detroit that was drug and gang infested. Varga was frequently abused and abandoned by his mother and her boyfriends. Varga worked hard at basketball and while in high school, he became an unlikely high school basketball All-American. After high school, Varga attended the University of Pittsburgh where he went on to star in the Big East Conference. In 1996, the Pittsburgh Golden Panthers Jonestown Chapter named Varga MVP of the team. He was also awarded the Bell Atlantic’s Prestigious Scholar Athlete Award along with the Dapper Dan Charities “True Grit Award.” After his time at Pittsburgh, Varga achieved his dream of playing basketball professionally. Varga played for two Spanish national teams and he was named an All-Star for three consecutive years. One day, Varga had an epiphany and realized that there was more to his life than playing basketball. Today, Varga is the founder and president of The Chad Varga Company, Inc. and he speaks to students across the nation.
