About Bryon Russell
Byron Russell was a second-team All-Big West performer at Long Beach State University prior to joining the Utah Jazz in 1993 as a second round pick. From 1993 to 2002 Russell was a standout small forward for the Jazz, helping them to multiple playoff and NBA Finals appearances. In 2002 he signed with the Washington Wizards and saw time with the Lakers from 2003 to 2004 and Denver Nuggets from 2004 to 2006 before leaving the NBA to play in the ABA, IBL and WCBL from 2007 to 2009. Russell retired from the game of basketball in 2009 having scored 6,663 career points to go along with 2,914 rebounds and 1,085 career assists. After his retirement he was honored by having his No. 32 Long Beach State University jersey retired during a touching pregame ceremony.
