About Billy Owens
Billy Owens was a standout three-year player at Syracuse and went on to a ten-year NBA career. While with the Orange, Owens averaged 17.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game. He was a two-time All-Big East pick who saved his best for last in 1991, winning Big East Player of the Year and first-team All-American honors. Owens was subsequently selected third overall in the 1991 NBA Draft. He made the All-Rookie first-team with the Golden State Warriors and averaged over 14 points and seven rebounds per game in his first five seasons. Owens also played for the Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, Seattle Sonics, Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons. In his post-playing career, he has spent time as an assistant coach at Rutgers-Camden and in the sports agency world at PBI Sports & Entertainment.
