Bill Cartwright

Bill Cartwright played college basketball at the University of San Francisco. He ended his college career averaging 19.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. Thanks in part to his success in college, Bill became the third overall pick in the 1979 NBA Draft and was selected by the New York Knicks. While Bill made his only All-Star game in his rookie season, his biggest accomplishments came later in his career. After being traded to the Bulls in 1988, Callahan was part of the team that won three-straight NBA Championships from 1991-1993. While his playing career was quite impressive with more than 12,000 points, 6,000 rebounds, and 1,300 assists, Bill decided to get into coaching after retiring from playing. Starting as an assistant coach, Bill was promoted to head coach of the Bulls 27 games into the 2001-2002 season, a position he held until the beginning of the 2003-2004 season.
