About Bennedict Mathurin
Bennedict Mathurin is a Canadian NBA player for the Los Angeles Clippers. Hailing from Montreal, Quebec, he was drafted sixth overall in 2022, becoming the first Montreal native selected as a lottery pick. At the University of Arizona, he was named Pac-12 Player of the Year and a consensus second-team All-American in his sophomore year, averaging 17.7 points and 5.6 rebounds.
In his rookie NBA season (2022-23), Mathurin earned All-Rookie First Team honors, leading bench scorers with 16.7 points per game and finishing fourth in Rookie of the Year voting. Mathurin, of Haitian descent, also gives back to communities, drawing from his own experiences of hardship.
