About Ater Majok
Ater Majok has pursued a professional basketball career all around the world. Majok currently plays for the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA D-League. Early in his life, he had to leave his home country of Sudan through a refugee camp. Majok eventually ended up in Sydney, Australia for high school and committed to the University of Connecticut. He played just one season for the Huskies before the Los Angeles Lakers drafted him in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft. Since then, Majok has played in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Korea. He won the Bundesliga Pro A Championship in Germany in 2014 and a championship in the Belarusian Premier League in 2013. In addition to his time in he D-League, he also was a participant for the Lakers in the 2012 Vegas Summer League. Majok is one of six siblings and has a cousin who also played Division 1 basketball.
