About Andrei Vasilevskiy
Andrei Vasilevskiy has quickly established himself as one of the NHL's top goaltenders with the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was selected in the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft after beginning his juniors career in Russia. Vasilevskiy came over to the states in 2014 and spent parts of two seasons playing with the Syracuse Crunch. He made his NHL debut as well that season and was initially an understudy to Ben Bishop. Vasilevskiy had a breakthrough in 2017, winning a Lightning team-record nine straight games. He won ten games in October, which tied an NHL record for wins in the month. Vailevskiy also set a Lightning single-season record for shutouts and was named to his first All-Star team. He has often competed for Russia on the international level, including winning medals as a member of the 2014 and 2017 World Championship squads.
