About Al Del Greco
Al Del Greco is one of the greatest kickers in NFL history. He spent 17 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals, and Houston/Tennessee Oilers. Del Greco made 347 field goals, 551 extra points, and ranks 17 all-time in NFL scoring. His standout college kicking career at Auburn got him inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Del Greco holds the single game SEC record for field goal attempts and makes. Since retirement, he has had an exciting post-football life. After leading the Spain Park High School boy’s golf team to three straight state titles, Del Greco took the head-coaching job at Samford University. In addition to his college coaching duties, he also is a sports talk co-host on “The Opening Drive” on WJOX in Birmingham. Del Greco earned greater recognition in the golf world as a competitor on the Golf Channel reality show “Big Break NFL Puerto Rico” in 2013. Del Greco’s son, Trey, played under him in high school and went on to four years at Vanderbilt.
