Brandon Siler

Brandon Siler is a former NFL linebacker who most recently played for the Kansas City Chiefs. Siler is best known for his time at the University of Florida, where he committed to being a Gator after four standout years at Evans High School in Orlando, Florida. At Florida, Siler emerged into one of the SEC’s top linebackers, earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors in 2004. After new head coach Urban Meyer took the reins in 2005, Siler became a defensive force, recovering seven fumbles and becoming a feared pass rusher. His junior season was arguably his best as a Gator, as he finished with three sacks and 77 total tackles. Siler’s defensive play was a main reason to why the Gators went 13-1 during the season, winning the SEC and the National Championship in a 41-14 blowout over the highly favored Ohio State Buckeyes. Projected by scouts to be a second to third round pick, Siler entered the 2006 NFL Draft, where he would fall to the seventh round, eventually being picked by the San Diego Chargers. He played six seasons in the NFL, recording three sacks and two interceptions, and a ruptured Achilles in 2012 led him to not being resigned.
