Zach Hyman Biography

Zach Hyman is a star left wing for the Edmonton Oilers. Hyman joined the Oilers as a free agent in 2021 and became a key part of a rising franchise. During his first season, he helped lead Edmonton to the Western Conference Final, scoring 16 points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He scored in six straight postseason games at one point. Hyman was even better during his second season with the club, scoring a career-high 83 points during the regular season. 

Before coming to the Oilers, Hyman spent six seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs. That was following an impressive run in college hockey at Michigan, where he was an All-Big Ten First Team selection and a First Team All-American. The Florida Panthers originally made Hyman a fifth-round pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. 

Off the ice, Hyman is very involved with children's charities like Right To Play and First Book Canada. He is also an award-winning children's author.
