Victor Montalvo

Victor Montalvo who performs as B-boy Victor became the first American breakdancer to win an Olympic bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Games. Victor Bermudez and his uncle introduced Victor Montalvo to breaking at birth in Kissimmee Florida on May 1 1994 because they were Mexican pioneers of the sport during the 1980s. The movie Beat Street motivated Montalvo to start practicing breaking at age six which led him to develop an intense love for the dance form.

Montalvo has established himself as a leading figure in international competitions through his numerous achievements. Montalvo achieved two Red Bull BC One World Champion titles during his career when he won in 2015 and 2022. The World Games 2022 gold medal he won solidified his position as a leading breaker worldwide. Montalvo became the first American to qualify for Olympic breaking competition after winning the 2023 WDSF World Championship in Leuven Belgium.

Montalvo demonstrated his outstanding abilities and artistic mastery during the Paris 2024 Olympics to claim a bronze medal in men's individual breaking. The performance displayed creativity alongside precise movements while demonstrating deep knowledge of breaking's cultural heritage. Montalvo dedicates his time to teach upcoming dancers while working to establish breaking as an official sport which receives proper recognition throughout the world.
