About Tyler Clary
In his college career, Tyler Clary swam for the University of Michigan for 3 years where he was a 3x National Champion was NCAAs Swimmer of the Year in 2009. Before the 2012 Olympic Games, Clary had won several medals in national and international competitions, including 3 silver medals at the National Championships. Clary qualified for his first Olympic games in 2012 where he competed in the 200 meter butterfly and 200 meter backstroke. After a disappointing performance in the butterfly, Clary shocked the world by breaking the Olympic record and winning the gold medal over fellow American Ryan Lochte in the 200m backstroke event. Throughout his career, Clary has won 16 medals in major international competition.
