About Janet Evans
Janet Evans is one of the most decorated swimmers in United States history. In the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games she brought home three Gold Medals in the 400m freestyle, 800m freestyle and 400m medley, and followed that up with another Gold Medal and a Silver Medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. In addition to her Olympic glory she was also a five time World Champion and 12-time Pan Pacific Championships Gold medalist. After retiring from swimming after the 1996 Alanta Olympic games she became a highly sought after motivational speaker and a valuable brand ambassador for companies like Speedo, Cadillac, Xeros, PowerBar, AT&T and John Hancock. She’s also become a successful author, publishing her first book “Janet Evans’ Total Swimming” in 2007. For her outstanding contributions to the United States and stellar performances on the world stage she was inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame in 2004.
