About Tuukka Rask
After a junior hockey career in his home nation of Finland, Tuukka Rask was the #1 rated goalie coming out of Europe for the 2005 NHL Draft where he was selected 21st overall by the Toronto Maple Leaves. Shortly after being drafted, Rask was traded to the Boston Bruins where he has spent his entire NHL career. He spent the first few years of his career jumping back and forth between the Bruins and their AHL affiliate in Providence until the 2009-2010 season. Rask helped lead the Bruins to two Stanley Cup Finals in a 3-year stretch, winning one of them in 2011 with a .927 save average. He also went on to have a standout year in the 2013-2014 season where he had a .930 save average and was awarded the Vezina Trophy for the League's top goaltender. Rask was in between the cage for the Finnish National Team at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi where his team brought home a bronze medal. The two-time NHL All-Star officially retired in 2022 as the winningest goaltender in Bruins history.
