About Bill Barber
Bill Barber played 12 seasons in the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers from 1972 to 1984 after being selected with the No. 7 overall pick in the 1972 NHL Entry Draft. Barber played only 11 games in the AHL with the Richmond Robins before being called up to the big show. During his rookie season he shined on the ice, scoring 30 goals and tallying 34 assists, which put him in the running for the Calder Trophy, given to the NHL Rookie of the Year. During his long and decorated career he scored 420 goals to go along with 463 assists for a total of 883 points in 903 career games. As one of the premier scorers in the game he scored over 20 goals during every season for the entirety of his career. He also added 53 goals and 55 assists in the playoffs for a total of 108 points in 129 games in route to helping the Flyers to Stanley Cup titles in 1974 and 1975. After retiring from the Flyers in 1984 he was honored by having his legendary No. 7 jersey retired, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1990.
