About Trevor Hoffman
Trevor Hoffman is a former player in Major League Baseball as a relief pitcher, most notably as a closer. Hoffman began playing professionally after he was selected in the 11th round with the 288th overall selection in the 1989 MLB Draft. While he played shortstop and third base in the Reds minor league system, Trevor converted to a pitcher in 1991 and quickly exhibited his arm by regularly throwing 95 mile per hour pitches and recording 169 strikeouts in two minor league seasons before making his MLB debut in 1993. In a career that lasted until the end of the 2010 season Trevor had over 1,000 career strikeouts and 601 saves. Those numbers aided him in becoming a 7 time All-Star selection, a two time National League Saves Champion, a two time NL Rolaids Relief Man of the Year, and becoming a member of the San Diego Padres Hall of Fame.
