About Carlton Fisk
Carlton Fisk is a retired catcher for the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox of the MLB. In high school, Fisk played both baseball and basketball. The Boston Red Sox selected Fisk as the fourth overall pick in the 1967 MLB Draft. He spent two seasons in the minor league and he was called to the Major League for two games in 1969. In 1971, Fisk was called up to the Red Sox and he appeared in 14 games. Fisk’s first full season with the Red Sox came in 1972, which resulted in Fisk being named AL Rookie of the Year and he won the AL Gold Glove at Catcher. In 1974, Fisk suffered a severe knee injury. On March 18, 1981, Fisk signed with the Chicago White Sox where he spent three years. During his career, Fisk was a 1x All-Star and a 3x Silver Slugger Award winner. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2000.
