About Dave Winfield
Dave Winfield earned his way into the Baseball Hall of Fame after an epic 23-year career in Major League Baseball. During his career he played with the San Diego Padres, New York Yankees, California Angels, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians from 1973 to 1995 and launched 465 homeruns to go along with a solid .283 average, 3,110 career hits and 1,833 RBI in 2,973 career games. His career honest include being named an All-Star 12-times in the outfield, winning seven Gold Glove Awards in right field, six Silver Slugger Awards, and the Roberto Clemente Award in 1994. In 1992 Winfield hit .290 with 26 homeruns and 108 RBI in route to helping the Toronto Blue Jays to a World Series title. Winfield’s career accomplishments with the San Diego Padres from 1973 to 1980 were honored when the franchise retired his No. 31 jersey after his retirement. As a testament to his unbelievable athleticism, he was selected in the NFL, NBA and MLB draft after a legendary three sport athletic career at the University of Minnesota.
