Tony Stewart

Tony Stewart grew up racing go karts and was successful at an early age in his native Indiana. By 1991 he had made his way up the ranks to the USAC series where he became the Rookie of the Year. Shortly thereafter Stewart became the first driver to win USAC's Triple Crown by earning championships in all three of the divisions, National Midget, Sprint, and Silver Crown. At that time, when he was not running open wheel cars he began running stock cars in the NASCAR Busch Series. In 1999 Stewart moved full time to NASCAR and joined Joe Gibbs in the premiere series of the sport, the Sprint Cup Series. His career accelerated quickly with an outside pole position in his first race. Since then Tony has gone on to become a three time series champion accumulating nearly 50 wins in 554 career races. Since 2009 Tony has also become a team owner in the series with a team comprised of himself and three other drivers known as Stewart Haas Racing, and the team has now won 2 Sprint Cup Championships in just 6 years of existence.
