About Brad Daugherty
Brad Daugherty played nine seasons in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 1986 to 1995 after a legendary career at the University of North Carolina. During his time with the Tar Heels he earned All-ACC honors twice and was named a First Team All-American in 1986 after averaging more than 20 points per game as a senior. For his performance during his career at UNC he was named to the ACC 50th Anniversary Team in2002 and inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame. In 1986 the seven foot center was selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Cavaliers in the NBA Draft and set out to prove himself on basketball’s grandest stage. Over the next nine seasons he earned five NBA All-Star selections and was selected to both the NBA all-Rookie First Team in 1987 and All-NBA Third Team in 1992. Daugherty retired in 1995 with 10,389 points and 5,227 rebounds, which are good for a career average of 19 points per game, and 9.5 rebounds per game. In 2000 he was named to the All-Time Cleveland Cavalier team and had his No. 43 jersey retired by the franchise.
