About Tony Delk
Tony Delk was a reliable guard for ten NBA seasons. He averaged 9.1 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. In 2001, Delk scored a career-high 53 points for the Phoenix Suns. The Charlotte Hornets originally selected him 16th overall in the 1996 NBA Draft. Delk played college basketball at the University of Kentucky. He was named to the All-SEC team three times. As a senior, Delk was named the SEC Player of the Year, a consensus first-team All-American and helped the Wildcats win the NCAA Championship. He was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player. Delk's #00 jersey is retired in rafters at Rupp Arena. After retiring from the NBA, he returned to his alma mater to serve as an assistant coach for two seasons. Delk also spent two seasons as an assistant coach at New Mexico. He has worked as a college basketball analyst for the SEC Network as well.
