About Tony Cingrani
Tony Cingrani is a relief pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cingrani was initially slow to develop, but caught the eye of scouts during his senior season at Rice University. He tied an Owls single-season record with 12 saves and had a 1.74 ERA. The Cincinnati Reds selected him in the third round of the 2011 MLB Draft. Cingrani led the minor leagues with a 1,73 ERA when he was called up to the majors for the first time in 2012. He initially debuted as a starter, compiling a 7-4 record and 2.92 ERA in 2013. After a tough 2014, Cingrani went back to the bullpen. He pitched for the Reds until being acquired at the trade deadline by the first-place Dodgers in 2017. Cingrani was essential in the team's run to the World Series, posting a 2.79 ERA in 22 appearances down the stretch. In seven postseason appearances, he allowed just one earned run in five innings.
