About Thomas Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel is a German professional soccer manager and former player who manages the England national team. A native of Krumbach, Bavaria, he is regarded as one of the world's top coaches.
A knee injury ended his playing career at 25, which allowed him to transition to coaching in 2000, starting with VfB Stuttgart’s youth teams, where he developed players like Mario Gómez and Holger Badstuber, winning the U19 Bundesliga in 2004–05.
Tuchel’s senior coaching career began at FC Augsburg II in 2007, followed by Mainz 05 in 2009, where he secured UEFA Europa League qualification. He replaced Jürgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund in 2015, winning the 2017 DFB-Pokal. At Paris Saint-Germain (2018–2020), he claimed two Ligue 1 titles, a domestic quadruple in 2019–20, and reached the UEFA Champions League final.
In 2021, he joined Chelsea, winning the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup in his debut season and earning the Best FIFA Football Coach award.
