About Terry Cummings
Terry Cummings is a retired NBA power forward, playing for multiple teams over his 18 year career. Originally a highly touted prospect out of college, Cummings was drafted second overall in the 1982 NBA draft by the San Diego Clippers out of DePaul University. He would go on to win rookie of the year in 1983 after averaging 23.7 points and 10.4 rebounds per game in arguably his best season as a professional basketball player. After being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks during the off-season, Cummings would average over twenty points for the next five seasons for the Bucks, and was selected to the 1985 and 1989 All Star teams. After a trade to the San Antonio Spurs in 1989, Cummins would prove to be a reliable power forward in the NBA, having a solid six more seasons with the Spurs. After a severe knee injury in 1992, Cummings would never be the same again, barely playing and becoming a backup or reserve player for many teams. Aside from this, Cummings still ranks as a top 50 scorer in NBA history, and is considered one of the greatest power forwards of his generation.
