About Taryne Mowatt
Taryne Mowatt is a former softball pitcher, playing collegiately for the University of Arizona Wildcats and professionally for the Washington Glory. Originally from California, Mowatt attended the University of Arizona to play for longtime head coach Mike Candrea. After seeing limited work her freshman season, Mowatt dazzled in her first full season, leading the Wildcats to a national championship in the 2006 Woman’s College World Series. During the 2006 season Mowatt threw a no hitter and a perfect game in less than a week, a nearly impossible feat. Mowatt was as good if not better in 2007, as the junior led Arizona to another national championship, breaking numerous conference championships on her way. Her career at Arizona ended after another trip to the Women’s College World Series was cut short, but not before Mowatt became the eighth Wildcat pitcher to win over 100 games. After graduation, Mowatt was drafted by the now defunct Washington Glory of the National Pro Fastpitch league, playing for three seasons until the team folded.
