Sue Enquist

Sue Enquist has spent the majority of both her playing career and her coaching career with two of the same things – softball and the Unviersity of California Los Angeles. Playing for UCLA from 1975 to 1978, she helped lead the team to its first national softball championship in the Women’s College World Series. Enquist also became UCLA’s first All-American softball player. After concluding her 30 years with softball at UCLA, (27 years and head coach and 3 years as a player), Enquist earned a combined total of 1,314 wins. She has been inducted into four Hall of Fames and is also the recipient of multiple National Coach of the Year and Pac-10 Coach of the Year honors. However, Enquist’s talents didn’t stop on the field. She developed 25 instructional videos covering all facets of the game of softball, authored a book entitled 101 Offensive Drills for Softball, and coproduced hitting instruction software with MLB player Don Slaught. Enquist is also the inventor of a sliding wrap that increases player protection when sliding and a training bat, named the SB401. If that isn’t enough, Sue Enquist inspires people worldwide by speaking at numerous high schools and colleges, gaining a reputation as a highly sought after and dynamic international speaker.
