About Tad Boyle
Thomas “Tad” Boyle is the current men’s basketball head coach at the University of Colorado.Back in the mid 1980’s, Boyle was a star player at the University of Kansas Jayhawks, playingunder legendary coach Larry Brown. Boyle broke onto the NCAA coaching scene in 1994 as anassistant coach at the University of Oregon, where he coached for three years until leaving forthe University of Tennessee. After stops as an assistant coach at Jacksonville State and WichitaState, Boyle was hired by Northern Colorado, where he led the Bears to a 56-66 record over hisfour year tenure, including a fantastic 2009-2010 season in which the Bears finished 25-8. OnApril 19, 2010, Boyle was hired to be head coach at the University ofColorado, calling it his“dream job.” In his first season, Boyle coached the team to a school record 24 wins. Boylefollowed this initial success up in his second year by winning the Pac 12 championship andadvancing to the round of 32 in the NCAA tournament. Boyle is extremely popular and adoredby fans and fellow coaches alike, and it shows with his success on the court.
