About Stuart Skinner
Stuart Skinner plays as a professional ice hockey goaltender for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League. Stuart Skinner was born on November 1, 1998 in Edmonton Alberta and began his hockey development in local leagues before joining the Lethbridge Hurricanes and Swift Current Broncos in the Western Hockey League. He became the first goaltender in Hurricanes history to achieve this feat.
The Edmonton Oilers selected Skinner in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft with their 78th overall pick before he signed his entry-level contract in 2018 to make his NHL debut during the 2020–21 season. The 2022–23 season brought his breakthrough when he achieved a 29–14–5 record with a.914 save percentage and earned an NHL All-Star selection and Calder Trophy finalist position. The following season he established a franchise record by winning 11 consecutive games.
Skinner maintains his composure in goal through meditation and stoic philosophy which helps him stay focused under intense pressure. The couple resides in Edmonton with their two sons Beau and Darcy while his wife Chloe supports him. The 2025 season finds Skinner playing a crucial role for the Oilers while they pursue their championship dreams.
