About Steve Stipanovich
Steve Stipanovich, with a lasting childhood nickname of “Stipo”, is a retired NBA basketball player. Standing at 6’11”, it is no doubt Stipanovich had a natural talent for the game. After being born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Stipanovich went on to attend the University of Missouri, where he was named Big Eight Newcomer of the Year as a freshman. Stipanovich dominated the Big Eight Conference throughout his time with Mizzou, averaging over 18 points and 9 rebounds per game by his senior year. Stipanovich was drafted by the Indiana Pacers as the second overall pick in the 1983 NBA Draft. He played center for the Pacers for a total of five years, earning NBA All-Rookie First Team, Big Eight Conference Player of the Year, and second team All-American between his first two seasons. Stipanovich scored an admirable total of 5,323 points, 3,131 rebounds, and 938 assists in his five seasons in the NBA.
