About Sidney Moncrief
Sidney Moncrief is a retired professional guard for the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks of the NBA. Moncrief attended the University of Arkansas from 1975-79 where he helped to resurrect the team from decades of modest success and disinterest. The Milwaukee Bucks selected Moncrief as the 5th overall pick in the 1979 NBA Draft. Moncrief spent ten seasons with the Bucks and during that time he helped them get to the 1982 NBA Playoffs. Moncrief played for the Atlanta Hawks for his final season in 1990-91. During his time as a player, he was a 5x NBA All-Star, 2x NBA Defensive Player of the Year, 4x All-NBA Second Team selection and 4x NBA All-Defensive First Team selection. He also made the All-NBA First Team in 1983 and NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 1982. In 1998, Moncrief was inducted into the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame. After his playing career, Moncrief became a coach at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock for a season. He has also coached the Fort Worth Flyers, Golden State Warriors and the Milwaukee Bucks.
