About Sheri Sam
Sheri Sam is a former professional basketball player in the WNBA. Sam attended Vanderbilt University and became the first person in her family to graduate from college. While at Vanderbilt, Sam was honored with being named one of the greatest players in SEC history. She helped to lead Vanderbilt to the NCAA Final Four in 1993 and as a senior, she was named Kodak All-American and she was named to the AllSEC First Team. In 1995, she competed with the USA Basketball team and helped to bring home the bronze medal in Taipei. After graduating from college, Sam played on the American Basketball League for three years on the San Jose Lasers. After the ABL folded in 1999, the Orlando Miracle selected Sam in the WNBA Draft. She was waived by the Miracle before the start of the 2000 season, but signed with the Miami Sol shortly after. She has also played for the Seattle Storm, Charlotte Sting, Indiana Fever and the Detroit Shock. She is now a scout for the Portland Trailblazers.
