Shawn Crawford

Shawn Crawford is a retired sprinter. Crawford attended Clemson University where he won 11 All-American honors and three National Championships. Crawford started 2001 with a victory at the Indoor World Championships in the 200m. Later that year, he also tied for the bronze medal at the World Athletic Championships in the 200m. On April 12, 2002, Crawford became the first man to break 10 seconds in the 100 meters and 20 seconds in the 200 meters for the first time; he broke both on the same day. Crawford competed in the trials for the 2004 Summer Olympics; he made the cut by finishing third in the 100m. At the Summer Olympics, Crawford took home the gold in the 200m race, and a silver in the 4x100m relay. He also participated in the 2008 Summer Olympics where he won the silver in the 200m race. In the 2009 US Championships, Crawford qualified to represent the US at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics.
