About Sean Burke
Sean Burke played 18 seasons in the NHL as a goaltender for the New Jersey Devils, Hartford Whalers, Carolina Hurricanes, Vancouver Canucks, Philadelphia Flyers, Florida Panthers, Phoenix Coyotes, Tampa Bay Lightning and Los Angeles Kings. Prior to his NHL career the Winsor, Ontario native helped lead Canada’s junior team to a silver medal in the 1986 World Junior Championships and Canada’s men’s national team to a fourth place finish at the 1988 Calgary Olympic games. From 1987 to 2007 he won 324 games and posted 38 shutouts while also recording a .902 save percentage, which ranks him among the best goalies in NHL history. Upon retiring from pro hockey he joined the Phoenix Coyotes as the Director of Prospect Development and now serves as the team’s General Manager and goaltending coach. In 2013 he selected his son Brendan with the 163rd overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft making them a dynamic father son duo.
