Scott Shanle Biography

Scott Shanle is a former NFL linebacker who played college football at the University of Nebraska. He was a walk-on that played his way into becoming a three-year starter for the Cornhuskers. Shanle was a two-time All-Big 10 pick at Nebraska. The St. Louis Rams selected him in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft. Shanle spent one season with the Rams before joining the Dallas Cowboys. He worked his way into becoming a starting linebacker for the Cowboys in 2005 before being traded to the New Orleans Saints in the offseason. Shanle led the Saints with 77 solo tackles in 2006. He was the team's Defensive MVP in 2008 after collecting 145 tackles. The following season, he recorded over 100 tackles again and helped New Orleans win Super Bowl XLIV. Shanle retired following the 2012 season with 673 total tackles in his Saints career.
