About Emmitt Smith
Emmitt Smith is best known as the NFL's all-time leading rusher. Smith’s 18,355 career-rushing yards, 164 rushing touchdowns, and 78 100-yard rushing games are all NFL records. He helped define an era of Dallas Cowboys football, winning three Super Bowls in the process. He was an eight-time Pro Bowler, the 1993 NFL MVP, and led the league in rushing four times. Dallas originally selected Smith with the 17th Overall Pick in the 1990 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida. With the Gators, he was a unanimous All-American selection and SEC Player of the Year.
Smith spent 13 of his 14 NFL seasons with the Cowboys and spent his final year in 2004 with the Arizona Cardinals. He has gone on to great success in the business world upon retirement from football and is a top sports motivational speaker. Smith was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010 and is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. An entirely new audience was exposed to Smith's charisma when he won season three of Dancing with the Stars in 2006.
