Meet & Greets
Scott Burrell has devoted much of his life to basketball, but he will forever be linked to one season of his lengthy playing career. Burrell was a member of the Chicago Bulls during Michael Jordan's last championship run in 1998. He played in Chicago just that one year and was originally drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1993 out of the University of Connecticut. Burrell has the unique distinction of being the first player in NCAA history to collect over 1,500 points, 750 rebounds, 275 assists and 300 steals. During his college summers, he also played minor league baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays. In his first four NBA seasons, Burrell had some success with the Hornets, including finishing third in the NBA's Most Improved Player voting his second year. After his time with the Bulls, he played in the league for three more seasons before going overseas, with stops in China, the Philippines and Japan.
Soon after retiring, Burrell turned his attention back to his home state of Connecticut and to the coaching profession. He was an assistant at Quinnipiac from 2007-15 before being named the head coach at Southern Connecticut State.
