Saul Alvarez

Saul Alvarez, also known as “El Canelo”, is a native of Guadalajara, Mexico and competes on the Light Heavyweight professional boxing circuit. Since turning pro he has posted an incredible 44-1 record with 31 knockouts. He began boxing as an amateur at age 13 and won a silver medal at the Junior Mexican National Championships in 2004 at age 14. In 2005 he defended his title and proved to the world that he was a force to be reckoned with in the ring. After he turned pro he went on a stretch in which he knocked out 11 of his first 13 opponents. Thus far in his young career he has captured both the WBC and WBA Light Middleweight Championships and has been the headliner for three HBO and Showtime tickets from 2010 to 2014. Outside the ring Alvarez enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter.
