Sagen Maddalena

Sagen Maddalena stands as a renowned American sport shooter who has competed in two Olympic Games while demonstrating exceptional precision and unwavering dedication. Born on August 16, 1993, in Groveland, California, she started her shooting career through the 4-H program before advancing to competitive shooting levels. She achieved eight All-American honors during her time at the University of Alaska Fairbanks from 2014 to 2018. The World Championship team selected her as a member twice during 2014 and 2018.

Maddalena joined the U.S. Army in March 2019 before becoming a shooter and instructor at the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) based at Fort Benning in Georgia.

Maddalena started her Olympic competition at the Tokyo 2020 Games by achieving a fifth position in the Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event. She returned to the Olympics in 2024 at the Paris Games, where she secured a silver medal in the same event and placed fourth in the Women's 10m Air Rifle.

She won a bronze medal at the 2023 ISSF World Championships in Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions while collecting multiple gold medals at the 2024 Championship of the Americas Games.

Maddalena dedicates her time outside competitions to community outreach by participating in programs that promote shooting sports and safety education. The University of Alaska Fairbanks awarded Maddalena a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management while she maintained academic excellence.
