About Al Michaels
Arguably the most influential sports broadcaster of his era, Al Michaels career has spanned four decades. From 1986-2006, he was the play-by-play man for sports’ most visible television platform, Monday Night Football. Michaels career has seen him call eight Super Bowls, eight World Series, two NBA Finals, and cover eight Olympic Games. His call of “Do You Believe in Miracles” during the Team USA upset of Russia in hockey at the 1980 Olympics is legendary. He is also remembered for doing pregame of Game 3 of the 1989 World Series when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit the San Francisco bay area. Michaels spent 29 years at ABC Sports before leaving for his current employer NBC Sports. He now is the voice of Sunday Night Football and serves as an Olympics host. Michaels has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is a five-time Emmy winner. The Brooklyn, New York native resides in Los Angeles.
