About Brett Favre
If you were to judge NFL legend Brett Favre’s career on his first five passes you might think he was not going to amount to much. Having completed three passes to the other team and adding an incompletion and a sack for an 11-yard loss, it was a rough 1991 for the rookie Favre in Atlanta. But when the Falcons decided to ship him up to Green Bay in exchange for a first round pick in 1992, everything turned around for the young star from Southern Mississippi.
Although he threw a few more interceptions over the next 19 seasons, he also threw plenty of touchdowns. In fact, by the time Favre finally retired for good in 2010 he had thrown for an NFL record 508 touchdowns and also added an NFL record 71,838 passing yards, 6,300 completions, 10,169 pass attempts and 186 wins to go along with an NFL record 336 interceptions.
When all was said and done Favre had led the Green Bay Packers to a Super Bowl championship in 1997, won five NFC Championships with the Packers and Vikings, and eight division championships while earning three consecutive NFL MVP awards from 1995-1997 and five NFC Player of the Year awards.
Favre is widely considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. Currently Favre is enjoying his retirement by spending time with his family, coaching high school football, and devoting his time to helping others through the Brett Favre Forward Foundation.
