About Rod Smith
Rod Smith went to Missouri Southern State University where he played wide receiver for the football team. He was annually one of Division IIs top players and set several conference and school records including career receptions (153). Smith went undrafted in the 1994 NFL Draft but was signed as a free-agent to the Denver Broncos shortly after the Draft. Smith recorded his first NFL reception in 2005 and went on to have a 14 year career, all with the Broncos. In eight of his fourteen seasons he recorded at least 1,000 receiving yards and is ranked 22nd in career NFL receptions. Smith helped the Broncos to win back-to-back Super Bowls in 1997 and 1998 and was named to 3 Pro Bowl teams. He stepped away from the game in 2008 and to this day is one of the all-time fan favorites for Broncos fans and is the only undrafted receiver to ever reach 10,000 career yards.
