About Ricky Proehl
Ricky Proehl is a retired wide receiver in the National Football League. He began his career in high school where he excelled in both football and basketball. He was named the Somerset County Player of the Year in his senior season before transitioning into college play at Wake Forest University where he became a four year letterman and set school records in receiving yards and touchdowns. It was that success that propelled Proehl to becoming the 58th overall selection in the 1990 NFL Draft. As a part of The Greatest Show on Turf, Ricky led the Rams to a Super Bowl Championship in 1999, one of his two victories in the game. After 16 seasons as a player Ricky retired from the game and became a broadcaster for the Rams pre-season games and radio shows before being hired as an Offensive Consultant in 2011 for the Carolina Panthers, a position he still serves in today.
